A few notes for fall… still plenty of riding time before the snow flies.

Judy Faass and Kurt von Ahnen’s Sept. 11 Military charity track day is coming up quick! The fun starts at Pueblo Motorsports Park this Friday. Both bikes and cars are invited(they won’t be on the track at the same time). $100 minimum donation goes to one of our soldiers who needs to remodel his home for wheelchair access thanks to some friendly jihadis. Bring checks to the track made out to SSG Charles Pannell. Do not pay on Judy’s website. See you Friday!

Get ready for some great riding at the September meeting on Sept. 12! Meet at Supertune at 9am and stay for the ride afterwards. Supertune is located just three blocks west of 44th & Wadworth.

Finally, the annual “Fall Colors Ride” to Aspen is scheduled for 9/25. This will be a great all day ride so bundle up and come on out.

Well even if it doesn’t, we got some great wet weather riding in at the rally this year. If you missed it, please make sure to get the rally on your Calendars for next year. It’s definitely worth it.

July’s Events

  • 7/11 - Monthly Meeting
As usual, we are having our monthly meeting at Fay Myers this coming Saturday. Meeting, lunch, and ride to follow.
  • 7/18 - Fallen to Freedom Ride

On Saturday, July 18, 2009 you will ride for thousands of youth who have fallen. Our hope is to see each one of them regain their freedom, realize their dreams, and become the wonderful and unique person they were created to be. The mission of Friends for Youth is to mentor at-risk youth through friendship in the Spirit of Christ. It is in this spirit that we believe the fallen can be free.

Please join us for this ride, it’s for a great charity and it’s a beautiful ride. Check out the Friend for Youth website for details and to register online.

  • 8/1 - August’s monthly meeting… same bat time, same bat channel
  • 8/8 - Heavenfest - Here’s another one of those opportunities to share about the club and show that not all sport bikers are rampaging hooligans. This is quickly becoming a huge event and we’re fortunate to be able to set up a booth and share our passions with the people in attendance!

One more note, the Colorado Chapter has also taken to Facebook so if you’re on there, check out the site and meet some of the members.

Just a quick reminder that June’s monthly meeting will be at Fay’s on 6/6 @ 9am. With any luck, we’ll have a dry weekend so we can get a ride in after the meeting.

Also, the 2009 Rocky Mountain Rally is scheduled for 6/25 - 6/28 in Silverthorne, CO. This is a highlight if you haven’t made it. Some of the best roads in Colorado are only an hour away. We have a place in Silverthorne that’s almost full (or might be depending on headcount), but we’ll make room for anyone needing a place to stay. Please let Jason, Bob or James know if you plan on attending all or part of the rally.

One more thing, please check the events calendar as new items are added all of the time. We are also using Facebook to schedule events so if you have an account, please join the group.

Sorry for the downtime. The spam filters got the better of the domain name renewal. Looks like we have it back now…

Anyways, please note the following:

  • May 2: NO MAY MEETING! - Instead, we’ll have a booth set up at Fay Myers’ Open House.
  • May 16: Ducati Demo day at Fay Myers / BMW Demo day at BMW of Denver. Come early if you’d like to demo a new Ducati or BMW!
  • May 30: We’ll be going to Mountain States Children’s Home. Meet at the Park n Ride west of I-25 and 120th at 9am! We’ll have lunch at MSCH and be back mid-afternoon.

Also, the 2009 Rocky Mountain Rally is coming up quick. Please let Bob, Jason, or James know if you’re planning on attending ASAP.

FYI… the COCSBA now has a Facebook page. To keep up with more current news about the Colorado chapter, click here.

Sorry for the lack of updates, the last couple of months have been hectic to say the least.

Anyways, 2009 is off to a feverish pace. Lots of planning, and lots of events in the works.

We’re continuing our monthly meetings at Fay’s… and maybe we’ll make it to Supertune too! The summer rally is in the planning stages as well as Rocky Mountain Childrens’ Home. We’re hoping to expand our activities to include some new outreach prospects… details are still sketchy.

So like I said, 09 is looking real nice. I hope you all can join us… you can start on February 7th for our monthly meeting.

Stay warm, get out when you can, and keep the rubber side down.

Please join us at Fay Meyers on Saturday, 11/01/08 for our monthly meeting.

9:00am start time… Lunch and ride to follow (weather permitting).

As always, Check out the calendar page for specific dates of upcoming events.

Ahh, fall… time to go check out the scenery and get those last few mountain rides in for the year. We all know that the snow will soon be falling (ok, so it already has), and the sand will get thrown thus rendering the mountain roads we all love a bit too hazardous for most of us to venture out on.

With this in mind, let’s get some riding in before it’s too late!

September’s happenings:

  • 9/06 - Monthly Meeting - Fay Meyers
  • 9/14 - MotoGP Party - details to follow
  • 9/27 - Fall colors ride to Aspen

Also, in lieu of an October meeting, we will once again be heading up to RMCS for the fall BBQ with the CMA. Plan accordingly, this is a great event.

After an extremely busy June and July, it’s looking like August is shaping up to be a bit easy on the schedule.

The next monthly meeting is Saturday, August 2nd at Fay’s… scroll down for the map. As always, lunch and ride to follow.

We’d like to take a moment and thank the organizers of Heavenfest, as well as Chad for all of his work, for having us at this event. It was a great day and we’re truly looking forward to being there next year.

Now that the 2008 Rocky Mountain Rally is in the books, keep an eye on the site for rally photos. A great time was had by all, and I think I speak for everyone in expressing my gratitude to Carl for an incredible study in apologetics. If we can pry them from his hands, we’ll post his notes to the site for everyone who would like them.

Now on to July!

  1. 7/12 - Due to the holiday, the monthly meeting is being bumped to July 12th at Fay Meyers. As always, lunch and ride to follow… weather permitting. It’s Colorado, the weather always permits!
  2. 7/19 - The “Fallen to Freedom” ride is on 7/19. Great Ride, Great Cause.
  3. 7/20 - Mark your calendars for the MotoGP BBQ. This year, the BBQ is being held at James’ house. Check the events calendar for details.
  4. 7/20 - Praise in the Park will be in Ft. Collins. Praise in the Park is FREE to go to and to have CSBA represented. Please contact Eric (BigE on the forums) for details.

As we head full speed into the holiday weekend, please be careful. As motorcyclists, we have enough to worry about on a normal day, but be extra cautious as our fellow Americans celebrate their independence by consuming vast amounts of alcohol then getting behind the wheel.

Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD; may your love and your truth always protect me. Psalm 40:11
